Enso Matcha is grown in Kyoto, Japan, a region famous for making the world’s finest matcha. Grown by artisanal tea farming families with centuries of experience, we produce matcha in small batches to ensure freshness, quality and love in every sip.

Our matcha is grown organically in Japan’s most pristine tea farming region. 

Enso Matcha starts its journey in the tea fields of Kyoto, Japan, where it is grown by artisanal tea farming families with centuries of experience. Our matcha is grown according to the principles of organic growth, free from chemical pesticides and GMOs.

Matcha is shade grown to increase L-Theanine, antioxidant content and flavor.

We shade our leaves for 3 to 4 weeks before harvesting. It improves the texture and colour of the tea and increases the antioxidant content, as well as producing a sweeter flavor. 

The youngest leaves are selected and hand-picked.

Each spring, the youngest leaves are hand-picked for their higher levels of L-theanine, antioxidant content and vibrant green colour. 

Leaves are steamed and dried, before being de-stemmed and de-veined.

The highest quality dried leaves are de-stemmed and de-veined. This is what we call Tencha.
